What Is “Secure Sense of Self”?

Do you feel confident and comfortable with who you are?

If you answered “yes,” you probably have a secure sense of self.

But if you answered “no,” you may not have a secure sense of self, and that’s okay — you can get there if you want to.

Having a secure sense of self pretty much means that you’re okay with being you — you know who you truly are and you fully accept who you are.

You know what you’re good at, you know you’re not good at. You know what you value, you know what you believe in — and you’re not changing any of that just to fit in or to please anyone.

You’re not constantly seeking validation from other people. You’re not easily affected by peer pressure or criticism.

You don’t let destructive feedback tear you down and you’re not afraid to embrace constructive feedback for your own personal growth.

Having a secure sense of self is like having a strong, unshakable foundation for building your life, career, relationships…

You feel genuinely happier. You have a lot more resilience. You’re able to get back up a lot faster.

It’s like having a strong anchor inside you that guides you to make decisions and face life’s challenges without constantly worrying about what others think.

At this point, you’re probably wondering if I have a secure sense of self. I would say that I do to some extent, but it’s not perfect.

I feel that it’s a lifelong journey, but it’s truly worth it, especially if you’ve been through a lot growing up.

We all have our stories and have all been through difficult times — regardless of your race, country, or how much wealth your family had.

But some people end up losing their sense of security through those trials and tribulations, like I did. Until I began working to regain my sense of security.

It’s pretty much all about learning more about yourself and growing along the way. Fully accepting yourself, but also recognizing when there’s something you need to work on.

Gaining back trust in yourself if you lost it. Proving yourself to yourself if you don’t believe in yourself anymore. And the list goes on.

But that is what this whole website and my personal brand is all about, so stay tuned! 😊
